The Black Keys, Cage the Elephant - September 20, 2014 - Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA

Cage the Elephant was really impressive especially energetic lead singer Matt Shultz, who was all over the stage jumping, screaming, dancing, and even crowd surfing. I've never seen such a charismatic lead singer who could have such command over an audience. There was a lot to compare from the first time I saw The Black Keys. The crowd was more rowdy. They were louder and more into the show with plenty of crowd surfers. Once again they played a strong setlist but this time with more new material. I was disappointed that they didn't play some of the old classics such as Thickfreakness, Girl In on My Mind, and I Got Mine. In both shows, The Black Keys played the same 7 songs off the El Camino album, showing that they wanted to please the crowd with their most popular album to date. Only 200 concert posters (see above) were sold and I was unable to get my hands on one. They sold out almost instantly. All in all, it's a coin flip between the 2 concerts. I enjoyed the setlist better the first time around but the second time had a better opening act and the wild crowd kept it interesting. Both great shows and one of the best live rock acts in today's music.

Read more about the concert here in an article I wrote for the Haverford High School newspaper, The Fordian.
