Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper - June 29, 2012 - Susquehanna Bank Center, Camden, NJ

An extremely hot night, almost unbearable, with the temperature in the 90s and humidity raging. We tailgated with some pizza before the show and met some interesting characters in the parking lot and the venue. From a venue standpoint it was not the best concert. It was a little hard to hear and some of the microphones kept going on and off. Although it had its negative moments, it was cool to see some of the most influential and long lasting heavy metal acts in Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden. Cooper, known for his theatrics on stage, pulled out all the stops including the guillotine, snakes, baby dolls, and giant balloons. Of course he also played the hits I'm Eighteen, No More Mr. Nice Guy, and School's Out. Iron Maiden was just as entertaining with lead singer Bruce Dickinson and bassist Steve Harris running up and down the stage constantly. An Iron Maiden concert would not be complete without an appearance from one of the only mascots in rock, Eddie the Head, who appears on all of the Iron Maiden album covers and most of the merchandise (see above). A metal concert can't get any better than the middle of Iron Maiden's setlist, songs 6-10. I actually preferred Alice Cooper over Iron Maiden not to say that Iron Maiden wasn't good. Maybe it was the heat, but I thought that Alice Cooper was easier to listen to. A good concert overall but could have been better with a stronger venue.
